About Lynette

My earliest memories are of being outdoors with trees. I fondly remember my sturdy confidante tree I’d run to and climb up when in trouble with my Mother, and spending hours cradled in the arms of my childhood best friend Oak tree.

Biology was my favorite subject at school. I fell in love with Nature and outdoor adventures during an environmental education camp at the age of 13, and spent many happy hours with the high school Wildlife Club.

Life’s journey took me into the corporate banking world as a business analyst and project manager, later running my own life skills company, Lifetime Experiences, in the corporate team building and experiential learning industry for 7 years. My offerings included inspirational talks, diversity appreciation workshops, life coaching, trauma counselling, youth empowerment and leadership camps, working with differently-abled children in the natural environment, teaching them about overcoming fears and enhancing self-esteem.

On 8 August 2009, I commenced my “Love in Action” travel adventure through Southern Africa. I then settled in Livingstone, Zambia for 10 years, where my ex-husband and I managed Waterberry Zambezi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River, setting up schools and Tukongote Community Projects in the rural villages surrounding the Lodge.

My time in Zambia deepened my love for and connection with Baobab trees, Nature and the African bush, with many glorious hours spent sitting in trees and walking in the bush. My ecotherapy, or Nature Therapy, with Mother Nature had begun …

Having returned to my beloved South Africa in 2021, I am now based in the town of Hoedspruit in the northern part of South Africa, living in a Nature Reserve at the foot of a powerful and sacred pyramid mountain.

As a certified life coach, NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming) practitioner and trauma counsellor since 2005, my time in the bush and my own healing experiences in Nature – my own Nature Therapy – have allowed me to transition naturally into becoming a Celebrant and Nature Therapist, bringing Nature connection and presence into my practice. Enhancing this connection, I am accompanied by Harmony, my precious Sounding Bowl, in a unique Nature Sound Therapy offering.

I have a deep understanding of the power of Nature, and of trees in particular, to bring healing, inspiration and joy, and now facilitate numerous programs and experiences with and in Nature.

I’ve always felt that Nature is the guide and the teacher. It certainly has been for me. And I do feel with this new world that we are creating and emerging into, THAT is an even more essential, louder guide. Can you imagine if everybody reconnected with Nature, and developed a loving, compassionate relationship with Nature, we’d stop destroying and learn a whole lot. I believe we would all thrive.

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful, deep, sensitive, powerful, joyful Nature communing with us. Especially as “towny”, I just revel in it. So thank you for that!   S.C.
